Brief Job Description
A Quality Assurance Analyst focuses on developing and executing software test plans to identify software problems and their causes. This position is fast paced and ever changing, requiring flexibility, self-initiative, and regular management of changing priorities. Occasional nighttime and weekend work is required within the position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  2. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
  3. Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  4. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers and project managers.
  5. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
  6. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  7. Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
  8. Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  9. Participate in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  10. Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
  11. Advise, mentor, train or assist quality assurance analysts and developers at other skill levels, as needed, to ensure timely releases of high quality code.
  12. Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering on-time, high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.

  10. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  11. Finger and Wrist Dexterity — The ability to make coordinated movements of the fingers and wrists of one or both hands to type and grasp objects.
  12. Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  13. Accountability — The ability to follow through on an established obligation and a willingness to accept responsibility of the outcome.
  14. Initiative — The ability to originate new ideas or methods; to think and act without being urged.

  19. Compliance Certification — Knowledge of and ability to comply with federal regulatory compliance in the financial industry (Zoot certification required).

Educational Background or Professional Designation Required:

  • Four-year College Degree, BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field (preferred) OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
